James Reimer Receives Third Star Honours
Last week James Reimer returned to action after not playing for two weeks. Reimer returned like thunder with a 25 save shutout performance to beat the much more talented Pittsburgh Penguins. Then three days later Reimer came back with a much needed monstrous 49 save performance over division rivals the Ottawa Senators.
The first star of this week was unsurprisingly Sam Gagner of the Edmonton Oilers. The former London Knight was in on 11 consecutive Edmonton goals. There are records out there for longest personal consecutive point streaks, but good luck finding records for the longest streak of being in on every one of your teams goals over a stretch of a couple games.
As for the second star of the week, New Jersey Devils star, Ilya Kovalchuk made the top three after registering three goals and seven assist over a four game span. Kovalchuk finished off the week by recording three consecutive three point games.
