Los Angeles Kings-Vancouver Canucks Season Preview
The No.1 seeded Vancouver Canucks will defend their Western Conference Championship against the No.8 seeded Los Angeles Kings. The Canucks are 2-1-1 against the Kings this year. In the 1st meeting of the season on Nov. 10 in Los Angeles, the Canucks won 3-2 behind Daniel Sedin’s 2 assist games. When they met on New Year’s Eve on Dec. 31 in Los Angeles, the Kings defeated the Canucks 4-1. On Jan. 17 in Vancouver, the Kings won 3-2 in a shootout over the Canucks. On Mar. 26 in Vancouver, the Canucks shutout the Kings 1-0 thanks to a 38 save shutout performance by Roberto Luongo. On Dec. 12, 2011, the Kings fired Terry Murray and they hired Darryl Sutter on Dec. 20, 2011. The Vancouver Canucks have led the NHL with 111 points and they’ve won back-to-back Presidents’ Trophy. The Kings acquired Jeff Carter on trade deadline in hopes to bolster their scoring. For the Canucks, they traded Cody Hodgson for Zack Kassian in a questionable trade. For my prediction, I think the Canucks will take this in 5 games.
