After a long search, HBO finally came to an agreement with the Miami Dolphins this week to appear on the upcoming season of the hit series Hard Knocks and while this squad may not be as exciting to watch as the New York Jets or Atlanta Falcons–there’s still plenty of exciting headlines to keep an eye on.
For starters, the Dolphins provide one of the most interesting quarterback battles to keep an eye on during training camp–mainly because they have three players capable of being the starter in Week 1. Not only did Miami invest a first-round pick on rookie Ryan Tannehill during April’s draft, but both David Garrard and Matt Moore have enough veteran experience to lead the way for the Dolphins in 2012 and they will do whatever it takes to earn that shot throughout training camp.
There’s no question Miami is in desperate need of some big changes considering they’ve only recorded one winning record over the last eight seasons and it should be interesting to see how first-year head coach Joe Philbin can live up to the hype after a successful tenure with the Green Bay Packers. If the Dolphins have any shot at winning the AFC East in 2012, Philbin will need to find a way to utilize all of Miami’s weapons–especially when it comes to Reggie Bush in the backfield.
