With the fourth pick in our 2012 NBA mock draft, I have the Cleveland Cavaliers selecting Michael Kidd-Gilchrist from Kentucky. MKG could be the second best player in this draft, but Cleveland is the first team that he fits on.
Kyrie Irving is going to love playing with MKG. He makes his living on the break and doing the little things. Pair him up with last year’s Rookie of the Year and Cleveland is slowly going to fight their way back to the playoffs.
I think MKG is going to be a fabulous player to watch. He does all of the little things and rarely makes a mistake for his team. I honestly can not remember seeing MKG screw up a fast break while at Kentucky. Those are little things that can be the difference between a win and a loss.
I hope that Cleveland is able to put together a nice core and make a playoff run. The two kids in MKG and Irving are going to be fun to watch and I hope that they can play on a national stage. It will still take some time, but if you keep those two kids together, good things are going to happen.
Dan Gilbert might be a bit of an idiot, but getting Irving and MKG in back to back drafts would be a steal. Hopefully he doesn’t chase these two out of town.
Stay tuned for more picks in our 2012 NBA mock draft.
