Here are the top three games to look forward to in Week 2 of the 2012 NFL season.
3. Baltimore Ravens vs. Philadelphia Eagles
If the Eagles have any chance of beating the Ravens in Week 2, they’ll certainly have to play better than they did against the Cleveland Browns on opening day. Even if Philadelphia went on to win the game, Michael Vick displayed one of the most horrendous performances of his career in Week 1 when he threw four interceptions–which is completely unacceptable.
As for the Ravens, the displayed one of the most impressive performances last week after the offense lit it up against the Cincinnati Bengals and are talented enough on defense to make it a long game for Vick.
2. Detroit Lions vs. San Francisco 49ers
Forget what happened between these two teams last season–this would still be an intense matchup considering both of these teams could meet again in January.
While the Lions avoided a scare in Week 1, the 49ers looked like one of the best overall teams in football thanks to a stellar defense and Alex Smith finally looking comfortable with running the offense. San Francisco may have the edge on paper, but don’t be surprised if Matthew Stafford has a big game as he looks to bounce back from his three-interception performance against the St. Louis Rams last weekend.
1. Denver Broncos vs. Atlanta Falcons
One thing is certain heading into Week 2–there are no more concerns surrounding Peyton Manning. The future Hall of Famer looked like his old dominant self against the Pittsburgh Steelers last Sunday and he’ll look to help the Broncos improve to 2-0.
Unfortunately, it won’t be easy as the Falcons were one of the most impressive teams from Week 1 thanks to Matt Ryan and Julio Jones.
