After two exciting weekends of football, the San Francisco 49ers and Atlanta Falcons will square off against one another in the NFC Championship on Sunday as both teams are anxious to represent the NFC in this year’s Super Bowl.
The 49ers will be looking to build off last week’s big performance against the Green Bay Packers in which Colin Kaepernick set a playoff record for a quarterback after finishing with 181 rushing yards and two touchdowns. It’s one thing for San Francisco to contain one of the league’s top defenses, but they’ve taken the offense to a whole new level the last few weeks and the Divisional Round against Green Bay showed how dangerous this team can really be when Kaepernick is running the show.
If he can display another big game–there’s no reason why the 49ers can’t pull off the win in this one.
However, the Falcons have an impressive offense of their own thanks to Matt Ryan and company. Atlanta arguably contains one of the league’s top wide receiver duos in Roddy White and Julio Jones–so look for them to come up big on Sunday.
Either way–this is certainly going to be an entertaining game between two of the top teams in the NFC. Defense is certainly going to play a factor in this one and if any team has the edge, it certainly looks like it’s going to be San Francisco in this one.
Then again, everybody knows how well the Falcons play in the Georgia Dome–so it should be a good one.
