There may not have been a lot of star power in the first round of the 2013 NFL Draft, but that didn’t stop the fireworks. We had two trades within the top 10 picks, a quarterback taken who wasn’t even on the big board and four big-name players who left the green room extremely disappointed.
How about the Miami Dolphins trading all the way up to No. 3 to take Dion Jordan? I know the team has lots of needs and pass-rusher is one of them, but that’s a big move for a guy like Jordan.
The St. Louis Rams‘ move was extremely predictable. Everybody and their dog knew they were going to take Tavon Austin, but they moved up to No. 8 overall to make sure they got their man.
The Buffalo Bills traded down and still got the first quarterback in the draft in…EJ Manuel?! Who saw that coming? So long, Geno Smith, Matt Barkley and Ryan Nassib. Kevin Kolb has competition in Buffalo and it ain’t a popular pick.
Did you see Manti Te’o‘s picture after his selection? Me neither, because there wasn’t one! Seriously, though, the first round of the draft was one of the most bizarre in a long time. So what did you think of all the crazy moves? Comment below and let us know!
