Who saw EJ Manuel as the top quarterback in the draft? You, in the back, put your hand down because you’re lying!
Anyway, now we go on to day two of the 2013 NFL Draft with the three biggest names among passers still on the board. The Jacksonville Jaguars elected not to take a signal-caller with the No. 2 overall pick in the first round, but they will be the first team on the clock in round two and they’ll have their pick of Geno Smith, Matt Barkley or Ryan Nassib if they decide to take a quarterback.
Other teams in need of a passer are the Philadelphia Eagles at No. 3, the Arizona Cardinals at No. 6 and the New York Jets at No. 8. Of course, the Buffalo Bills could pull a Mike Shanahan and take another quarterback at No. 10 or 16 to have a stable of rookies, but that’s unlikely. It’s also unlikely that Smith, Barkley and Nassib will still be on the board once round three begins.
The Eagles and Cardinals both need quarterbacks, but not nearly as bad as the Jets. The former two could wait on a guy like Mike Glennon, but the Jets should fire new general manager John Idzik if they don’t take Smith, Barkley and Nassib with the No. 8 pick in the second round.
So where do you think these passers will land on day two? Comment below and let us know!
