When Titus Young was selected by the Detroit Lions back in 2011, no one had ever imagined that the ex-Boise State Bronco would completely lose his marbles. Young’s character was an issue once he was selected, but his landslide since is impossible to describe.
The misguided wide receiver is currently not on an NFL team, but that did not stop him from getting arrested early Sunday morning for suspicion of drunk driving. If that wasn’t idiotic enough, Young would get arrested again 15 hours later for climbing the tow yard fence where his Black Mustang was impounded. How fitting that the former Lion got booked while driving a Ford and not a Chevy?

While it’s always fun to poke fun at Young’s childish ways, his issues between the ears are gigantic. In fact, Young’s former High School coach issued a statement after the arrest saying, “I just wish he’d get some help” when talking about the wideout and his recent troubles. A mental illness is a total different ballgame, but nothing has been brought up to make NFL fans think the issue has anything to do with mental health.
Moving on, Young’s playing days in the NFL are over, so the 23-year-old’s lone challenge will be to get his life in order and ditch his dream of playing professional football. Hopefully, someone can get inside the head of Young and turn him around because unlike basket cases such as Terrell Owens and Chad Johnson, Young has plenty of good years ahead of him. It’s a shame to say that he has burnt out without even hitting his prime, but it looks like the glory days will never come for this speedster.
