For someone who stands at 5-foot-11, Miami (FL) point guard Shane Larkin has done an excellent job proving his worth and potential for the professional level. Larkin had a terrific season with the Hurricanes, averaging 14.5 points, 4.6 assists and 3.8 rebounds per game for a group that ranked amongst the school’s best in program history. Larkin was the team’s catalyst and after weeks of sitting on the fence in regards to making a decision, the floor general made the decision to enter his name into the 2013 NBA Draft.
Larkin does not have the greatest of size for the NBA, but he does have the flashiness and the ability to create in the back court. At this point, Larkin is looking like a late first round selection, but could potentially dip into the front portion of the second round. It will be interesting to see just what type of fit Larkin finds, especially considering his projection could pin him either with a championship contender or a team looking to rebuild and bolster its roster.
