The Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Clippers are going to make a blockbuster trade! Wait, no they’re not. Yes they are! Are they?
It seems like Boston and L.A. have been planning a massive deal for almost two years, which according to “sources” and “reports” is pretty much the case. But now, after almost 24 hours of constant negotiation, the two sides are at a stalemate.
The Celtics are going to send Kevin Garnett and their coach, Doc Rivers, to L.A. That part is certain. The Clippers are going to send DeAndre Jordan, but that’s all that’s certain on their end. But after that, it gets squirrely.
The Celtics want two first-round picks for all of this while the Clips only want to give up one. Boston also wants Eric Bledsoe in addition to Jordan, but Los Angeles doesn’t want to give up its prize young guard, at least not right now.
Both sides seem set on getting a deal done, but the fine print is always the hardest to write. Of course, any deal that includes shipping a coach from one team to another is always going to be at least a little sticky, stay tuned to Rant Sports for the latest on when — or if — this blockbuster trade actually happens.
