With the No. 27 pick of the 2013 NBA Draft, the Denver Nuggets select Rudy Gobert.
Age: 21
Height: 7-foot-1
Position: Center
School/Country: France
About the Prospect: Rudy Gobert has worked his way onto the radar of many NBA scouts recently and the 7-foot-1 prospect could be a unique talent at the NBA level. Gobert is a project player, but he is a nightmare on the defensive end, simply considering his height and wingspan. Gobert needs to add some weight, but he has a refined offensive game that continues to improve. Gobert is not the type of player who is going to jump right in and produce at the NBA level, but he’s certainly a first round talent that warrants the attention.
About His Impact on Team:
It’s safe to say the Nuggets turned into one of the biggest surprises of the 2012-13 season as they earned the No. 3 seed in the Western Conference, despite their early exit in the playoffs. This is a team loaded with talent–which means it may be difficult for Gobert to see playing time as a rookie.
Still, for a player with this type of height, Denver will obviously try to figure out a way to use his size to their advantage against opponents.
