With the No. 15 pick of the 2013 NBA Draft, the Milwaukee Bucks select Giannis Antetokounmpo.
Age: 18
Height: 6-foot-9
Position: Small Forward
School/Country: Greece
About the Prospect: At just 18 years old, Giannis Antetokounmpo is more than intriguing. He’s a first round talent and he has just as much upside as anyone in this year’s draft. At 6-foot-9, he is emerging as a perimeter threat and his size and length could ultimately make him a dangerous match-up at the NBA level. With that being said however, Antetokounmpo is a project talent and he’s more than raw. Fans must be patient and only time will tell if him production will someday match his hype.
About His Impact on Team:
The Bucks were one of the surprise teams last year and made the playoffs as a No. 8 seed. For a player with his height, Antetokounmpo is a great shooter and knows how to play the perimeter. Give this kid a couple of years and he could emerge as a nightmare for opponents considering all of the skills he possesses as a small forward.
The league has seen plenty of successful international players over the years and there’s no reason why Antetokounmpo can’t emerge into one of the next great ones–so keep an eye on him during the 2013-14 season.
