About His Impact on Team: The Knicks’ faithful were ecstatic when they heard New York call Hardaway Jr.’s name on Thursday night and rightfully so. As a pure shooter, Hardaway Jr. should fit in well with the Knicks considering the offense is totally free of restrictions and promotes plenty of shots from the perimeter. Apart from a deadly outside shot, the Knicks’ rookie will also be able to drive to the basket and create more shots for Carmelo Anthony, who is the NBA‘s reigning scoring leader. Without a ton of youth on its roster, New York has a lot of riding on the Hardaway Jr. pick as the rookie needs to provide some young legs.
