Tyreke Evans Now Under Pressure After Being Traded to New Orleans Pelicans

A three-team trade went down in the NBA over the July Fourth holiday, but pretty much all you need to know is Tyreke Evans is now playing for the New Orleans Pelicans.

The details of the deal include Greivis Vasquez going from the Pelicans to the Sacramento Kings and the Portland Trail Blazers receiving Terrel Harris and Robin Lopez from New Orleans. But like we said, pretty much all you need to know is that Evans is now in southern Louisiana.

Evans has been waiting on a break from the lowly Kings. Of course, the Pelicans aren’t any better, but that four-year, $44 million deal definitely played a factor in acquiring the 2010 NBA Rookie of the Year.

Now after a draft-day trade and this latest deal, New Orleans has Jrue Holiday and Evans in the backcourt to go along with last year’s No. 1 overall pick, Anthony Davis. So now the Pelicans’ master plan looks a little better after shipping Nerlens Noel to the Philadelphia 76ers, but now the Pelicans’ new Big Three must show their worth right off the bat. In other words, it’ll be playoffs or bust for the Big Easy in 2013.
