Name: Brian Quick
Team: St. Louis Rams
Position: Wide Receiver
Years Pro: 1
Draft stock: (Stagnant) Tavon Austin is stealing the show in Rams camp as a eighth-overall pick should, so Quick isn’t getting much praise around the NFL. However, the Rams have publicly compared Quick to Vincent Jackson in recent weeks — is that just lip service or are the Rams really that brainless?
2012 fantasy impact: Quick was expected to be a game changer in his rookie campaign, but that was hardly the case. Instead, the speedy wide receiver caught just 11 passes with only two of them going for touchdowns in 2012. Overshadowed by an array of other mediocre wideouts; Quick was severely inconsistent.
Best-case scenario: Sam Bradford is rock solid in 2013 and Quick builds on his rookie season to the tune of seven touchdowns and nearly 800 receiving yards. Chris Givens goes down due to injury and Quick is the lone long-ball option for St. Louis.
Worst-case scenario: Austin, Givens, Jared Cook all emerge as more reliable targets than Quick. Unfortunately, Quick finds himself on the bench more often than not due to his inability to do one thing great.
Where you should draft him: Unless one of the Rams’ aforementioned offensive weapons goes down in training camp; don’t reach for Quick just because he’s a former 33rd-overall pick.
