Name: Michael Floyd
Team: Arizona Cardinals
Position: Wide Receiver
Years Pro: 1
Draft stock: (Rising) With Bruce Arians talking up Floyd and Carson Palmer reportedly making large strides in camp, the Cardinals’ second-year wide receiver’s draft stock is rising. However, the Cardinals are still pretty futile, so don’t expect the buzz surrounding Floyd to get much bigger.
2012 fantasy impact: Floyd’s rookie year was a huge disappointment. The low-water mark came in Week 11 when the 13th-overall pick was benched for lining up incorrectly. Luckily, he would reach the end zone twice in his rookie year and capped off his 2012 campaign with 166 receiving yards against the San Francisco 49ers.
Best-case scenario: Palmer coming to town turns Floyd into the No. 2 wide receiver that the Cards hoped he’d be. Over 1,000 yards receiving and double-digit touchdowns later, Floyd’s uncanny athleticism earns him an NFL All-Pro nod in his sophomore season.
Worst-case scenario: Arizona is once again disappointed by Floyd’s lack of focus an unpreparedness. In fact, the Cardinals decide to bench Floyd once again due to his inability to grasp Arians’ pass-heavy playbook.
Where you should draft him: Due to Floyd’s upside, he’s getting drafted earlier than he should. However, Floyd could excel next to Larry Fitzgerald, so using a 11th-round selection on Floyd is justifiable.
