2013 Fantasy Football Profile: Zac Stacy a Deep Sleeper for St. Louis Rams

Name: Zac Stacy

Team: St. Louis Rams

Position: Running Back

Years Pro: Rookie

Draft stock: (Dropping) For all intensive purposes, Stacy is the odd man out for the Rams in 2013. Both Daryl Richardson and Isaiah Pead have more upside than Stacy, so don’t expect the ladder to get many carries in his rookie campaign.

2012 fantasy impact: During his senior year with the Vanderbilt Commodores, Stacy was a total downhill runner, who excelled in short-yardage situations. Battling in the all-too-grueling SEC, Stacy was seen by many as this year’s Alfred Morris by some.

Best-case scenario: Richardson and Pead fail to snag the starting gig, which paves the way for Stacy to get legitimate action in just his first year. After awhile, the Morris comparisons ring true as the ex-Vanderbilt standout finds a home in St. Louis.

Worst-case scenario: Entrenched in the Rams’ depth chart, Stacy finds himself on the sidelines more than the gridiron. In essence, Stacy is a glorified assistant coach, who is relegated to a very minor role.

Where you should draft him: Stacy is a perfect low-risk high-reward candidate and should be available in your fantasy football league come the 15th round. Look for the Rams’ third-string back to be a popular waiver-wire pick-up if either Richardson or Pead go down with injury.
