Joseph Randle Fantasy Football 2013 Profile: Rookie RB Can Play

Name: Joseph Randle

Team: Dallas Cowboys

Position: Running Back

Years Pro: Rookie

Draft stock: (Rising) Considering Cowboys owner Jerry Jones prematurely called Randle the No. 2 running back in Dallas, the hype surrounding this fifth-round pick is growing by the day. In fact, Randle’s excellent stint with the nearby Oklahoma State Cowboys has Texans and fantasy football owners alike excited about the running back’s bright future.

2012 fantasy impact: Randle spent 2012 in college and boy did he turn heads. With nearly 5.46 yards per carry and 40 total touchdowns since 2011, Oklahoma State fans grew accustomed to Randle finding his way to the end zone. However, the 2013 NFL Scouting Combine wasn’t pretty for Randle as his draft stock plummeted after he ran a 4.63 forty-yard dash.

Best-case scenario: DeMarco Murray and Lance Dunbar both go down due to injury, which means Randle’s explosive pass-catching ability will be put on the forefront.

Worst-case scenario: Dallas head coach Jason Garrett grows frustrated with Randle’s lack of pass-protecting skills and the rookie running back finds himself on the bench more often than not.

Where you should draft him: It would be foolish to take Randle any earlier than the 15th round considering the logjam at running back for the Cowboys, but he’s a viable option in the 15th round.
