Name: Rueben Randle
Team: New York Giants
Related: Julian Edelman Fantasy Football 2013 Profile: Patriots Need Consistency
Position: Wide Receiver
Years Pro: 1
Draft stock: (Rising) Hakeem Nicks and Victor Cruz have been battling injuries all preseason long, and the Giants No. 3 wide receiver is getting more love than ever. Randle turned heads in the Giants’ Week 17 game last year with two touchdowns, but he still has a ton to prove to fantasy football owners in his second season.
2012 fantasy impact: Randle wasn’t able to do much for the Giants in his first year because Cruz, Nicks, Domenik Hixon and Martellus Bennett pretty much stole the show. Even still, Randle ended the season better than he started it, which is exactly what the members of the Giants front office want to hear.
Best-case scenario: New York struggles to get its offense going as Cruz and Nicks both miss a large chunk of the season and Randle is left as the No 1 wide receiver for the G-Men.
Worst-case scenario: For the second straight season, the Giants’ depth at wide receiver pushes Randle to the bench once again. Work ethic issues also arise as Rueben lands in New York’s doghouse.
Where you should draft him: If you trust the Giants’ two starting wide receivers to stay healthy then you shouldn’t even mess around with Randle. Even still, the 12th round is a good spot for Randle. who is pegged by many NFL pundits as a breakout candidate.
