Seattle Seahawks, San Francisco 49ers’ Twitter Feud Is Hilarious

Whenever news breaks that NFL players are fighting on Twitter, the entire league stops what its doing and takes a look. It’s kind of like a car wreck on the side of the road as no matter how interesting it might be, both parties end with some sense of regret. When players or coaches use social media to spar, the only result is “bulletin-board material,” yet it still happens on an almost weekly basis.

This time, it’s the San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks squaring off in a Twitter feud for the ages…well, not really. It all started with Anthony Dixon of the 49ers calling Seattle the “SHEhawks.” Surely, this is the kind of pun that warrants a response from at least one member of the Seahawks. Naturally, it was Dixon’s college teammate and Seattle linebacker KJ Wright, who quickly called Dixon out by saying “it’s going to be a long night for [Dixon] and the Forty Whiners.”

So many puns that I can’t even think straight!

Now, before you call either of these players “tough guys” keep in mind that both tweets were deleted shortly after the fact. Even still, these are the kind of comments that will amp up an already highly-anticipated NFC West showdown. Bulletin-board material doesn’t exist in games like this one as both rivals already don’t like one another, but is this supposed Twitter beef going to turn already great game into one for the ages?

We shall see.
