5 Can't-Miss NFL Games in Week 2

5 Can't-Miss NFL Games in Week 2
Steven Bisig-USA TODAY Sports

If you watched the ugly slop fest between the New York Jets and New England Patriots on Thursday night, then you are dying for some real football. There are a few big college football games for Saturday, but those are only going to be appetizers for the NFL contests slated for Sunday. And unless you're a die-hard college football fan, you're more about the games on Sunday anyway. Fortunately for you, this Lord's Day offers some solid NFL games that are sure to provide more entertainment than that sorry excuse for a game that kicked off the weekend.

The Jets-Patriots slap battle was a division rival game, but it doesn't begin to compare with some of the others that will be played in Week 2, headlined by a primetime showdown between two popular Super Bowl picks. Fortunately, these two teams just happen to play in the same division, so we'll get to see them square off at least twice this year and then likely a third time in the postseason.

And of course, there's the popularity game with a pair of brothers squaring off as the quarterbacks of their respective teams. Bet you'll have a really tough time guessing who that is. Here are five can't-miss games for Week 2.

Cowboys at Chiefs

The Cowboys at the Chiefs might not jump off the page, but both teams are 1-0 after bizarre victories that left everyone wondering just how good they really are. For two teams that don't meet very often, this game could be one of those thrilling, down-to-the-wire contests that dominates highlight reels on Monday morning.

The Rams at the Falcons is going to be a surefire shootout, so if you like the new style of football that sees lots of points scored, this is the game you need to watch.

Packers at Redskins

The Redskins at the Packers offers a contest of two teams looking to avoid hitting the panic button after an 0-2 start. RG3 is sure to be better than he was in Week 1 while Aaron Rodgers is primed to get back to his dominating level of play as well. Again, lots of points will be scored here.

Broncos at Giants

The Broncos at the Giants is a headliner simply because it's Manning Bowl III and it's the first time Peyton has faced Eli as a member of the Broncos. Things should be interesting and entertaining just because of the Mannings, but don't expect the game to be close by the time the fourth quarter begins.

49ers at Seahawks

Steven Bisig-USA TODAY Sports

The 49ers at the Seahawks is by far the best matchup of the week as San Francisco tries to do what no team has done in 21 months -- win a road game in Seattle. There are sure to be lots of big plays and emotional moments in this one, so waiting all day for Sunday Night Football will be worth it in Week 2.
