Le’Veon Bell Fantasy Owners Will be Disappointed in Week 4

It’s been confirmed the Pittsburgh Steelers will see their second-round pick in real game action for the first time this week. Thus, the fantasy football world is going nuts over a new starting running back on a team that is historically known the smashmouth style of play. But if you own Le’Veon Bell or are thinking about owning him, you better temper expectations.

Look, Bell is a great talent who showed he can handle a featured back’s role during his days at Michigan State. However, no running back is going to turn things around for the Steelers until something is done about their offensive line. Ben Roethlisberger is having to break tackles during his three-step drop, so Lord knows Bell is going to have to dodge defenders before he even takes the handoff, which means his fantasy value is strictly limited.

If this was the old-school Steelers who dominated the line of scrimmage and time of possession, then Bell might be the next big thing in fantasy football. But with the current squad, he may be the starter, but he won’t get a featured back’s worth of carries with his team playing from behind all the time. Sell high if you have Bell and steer clear of him if you don’t.
