MLB Drops Ball, Suspends Carlos Gomez After Brawl With Atlanta Braves

It didn’t take very long for MLB to react to the Atlanta Braves and Milwaukee Brewers‘ brawl on Wednesday. Carlos Gomez was the antagonist in the melee and actually was punched in the face by Reed Johnson of the Braves. Despite getting clocked, Gomez was handed a one-game suspension from MLB as was Johnson.

For those of you who haven’t seen the Gomez home run that started it all, it’s one of the best shows of unnecessary celebrations that you’ll ever see. Gomez began talking as soon as the ball left the park and that set off Paul Maholm, Freddie Freeman and Brian McCann like you wouldn’t believe. In fact, McCann was so upset with Gomez’s attitude that he walked up the third-base line where he waited for Gomez to touch home plate — let’s just say the Brewers’ star never did touch the base.

Even still, the run counted and McCann wasn’t even ejected!

Atlanta fans have grown accustomed to this Braves team beating other squads with their play, but to see the Atlanta players belting on Gomez isn’t what MLB fans want to see. At the end of the day; Gomez didn’t deserve a one-game suspension and Atlanta fans should be ashamed of their team in this case.
