Frank Gore’s Fantasy Value Back to Normal After Performance Against Rams

For all the fantasy football owners who were sweating bullets about starting Frank Gore in Week 4 after his disappointing start to the season, you can all now breathe a sigh of relief. The San Francisco 49ers‘ powerful running back absolutely demolished the woeful St. Louis Rams defense for 153 yards on 20 carries and a touchdown, although the majority of that came in the first half. Had the game been close, Gore could have easily eclipsed 200 yards.

Kendall Hunter was the primary beneficiary of the blowout as he racked up 49 yards a score of his own, but it’s unlikely he would have played that much had the game been closer, especially with the way Gore was tearing St. Louis apart. And fantasy owners can count on more big games from Gore as the season rolls on, so guys like Hunter are flex plays against weaker teams, at best.

With a lot of favorable matchups left on the 49ers’ schedule, Gore should be in for more big games like the one he had on Thursday night. Plus, San Francisco plays St. Louis again at home later in the year, so if you have Gore on your fantasy team, insert him into your lineup with confidence for the rest of the season.
