Johnny Manziel is well on his way to a second straight Heisman Trophy. And as Manziel’s 21st birthday approaches, college football fans are starting to wonder just how long “Johnny Football” will remain in the collegiate ranks. While good ‘ole No. 2 has yet to decide whether or not he will bolt for the NFL or stay in College Station; his decision is coming soon.
Texas A&M Aggies head coach Kevin Sumlin said on Friday that he is “sure” that Manziel will announce his plans before the Aggies’ Bowl Game. Now, the earliest A&M can play in a Bowl is December 30th, so he still has some time to mull it over. Let’s be honest: this Heisman Trophy-winner should already be in the NFL! Right now; Manziel is slotted to be a top-15 pick in next May’s draft, so what more could this QB gain from playing another year for the Aggies? The answer is nothing.
Therefore, don’t be surprised when Manziel leaves Kyle Field in the dust for the bright lights of the NFL.
