Troy Brouwer missed the final 4 minutes and 34 seconds as well as overtime in last night’s win against the visiting Anaheim Ducks. Late in the game Brouwer was shoved into the boards by Duck’s defenseman Toni Lydman, with his right shoulder taking most of the blow. Brouwer also missed practice this morning. However, according to a Capitals insider, his absence was for precautionary reasons. This past summer Brouwer received shoulder surgery on that shoulder.
According to the team physicians, there is no structural damage to Brouwer’s shoulder. He has been cleared to play this upcoming weekend and will most likely be in the lineup for Washington’s next game at Carolina on Friday night.
Stay tuned for any more news on the situation.
