Washington Nationals Need A Reliever
The Washington Nationals are set to have a good year. They’ve got good young starting pitching. They’ve got some power. They’ve got some speed. They seem to be a club that continues battling until the last out, seen in the first 3 games against the Chicago Cubs. Anyone can say, oh well- who cares. It was the Cubs. Well, Kerry Wood and Carlos Marmol aren’t exactly bad relievers, so the Nationals have to feel good with where they’re at.
Not so fast. I see a glaring need in a late inning reliever. Yes I know Drew Storen is out, but that doesn’t change the facts Tyler Clippard and Henry Rodriguez might be run into the ground if the Nationals continue to build leads. I have a strong and good feeling Bryce Harper will be up in June, giving the Nats a major bat. So that leaves a power arm at the back end of the bullpen will be on the list of GM Mike Rizzo.
I don’t care what anyone says. The Washington Nationals are a good baseball team. They’re young, and their exciting. It’s going to be fun to watch them play this year. I don’t see why they can’t go after a playoff spot, but frankly- it’s going to be a reliever that will hold them short, or push them over the top. We’ll see what Mike Rizzo has in store this year.

We don’t need another bullpen guy. We need a center fielder
