Introducing Nike Elite 51 “Not so New” Washington Redskins Uniforms and Gear
Nike introduced “Elite 51″ the highly anticipated new NFL jerseys, Tuesday. For some, the changes were minor, yet nice. Others felt totally let down after getting their hopes up for drastic changes. Then you have the Seattle Seahawks, who, lets just say – decided to channel their inner Oregon Ducks.
Brain Orakpo was the Washington Redskins model for the Nike Reveal, displaying the “not so new” Redskins jersey.
Here a picture of the, not so new Redskins Gameday attire from Kevin Edwolt of HogsHaven.com:
Other than the Nike Trademark Logo, the quality of the jersey and pants is apparent. The new Flywire Collar is pretty cool. But where’s the gold pants? That’s what I wanted to see. Maybe the Redskins will surprise the fans like they did in 2010, wearing gold pants week 1. Except, this time with some cool tweaks by Nike.
Orakpo gave somewhat a tease while meeting with the media, saying the Redskins have an alternate uniform that wasn’t revealed today. So we’re back to square 1. Nike has mastered the art of enticing fans; forcing them to use their imagination.
The new uniforms weren’t the only Nike products revealed today. Here’s more picks of Redskins attire from Kevin Edwolt:
Though Nike didn’t make any drastic changes, they’ve definitely upgraded NFL apparel for the fans. While you may be disappointed by the “not so new” uniform, don’t forget, this is Nike. That in itself is a major upgrade. Not to mention, this is just the genesis of what’s to come with Nike as the official NFL apparel company.
If you’re interested in purchasing a Nike Washington Redskins jersey, here’s the prices: $100 for GameDay Jersey, $135 for Limited Jersey, and $250 for Elite 51 Jersey.
