In early July, number 2 ranked and class of 2014 player Jahlil Okafor said he wants to play with number 3 ranked and class of 2014 player Tyus Jones.

This summer, Okafor and Jones had talks about making this partnership happen. Okafor and Jones said it’s basically going to happen, it is just a matter of finding the right fit.

Okafor and Jones played with Team USA at FIBA U17 and won a gold medal at the World Championship in Lithuania. The two stars developed a great chemistry on and off the court and now want to bring that over to the college level.

“We’re most definitely excited to do it,” says Jones.

I believe Okafor and Jones should play together. They’re outstanding players and both are really great kids. Okafor was All-State in Illinois (2012) and Chicago Sun-Time All-Area (2012), while Jones was Gatorade Minnesota Boys Basketball Player of the Year (2012) and All-South Suburban Conference in Minnesota (2011,2012).

Basketball is just a small part of what these boys do. Okafor boasts a 3.4 GPA at Whitney Young High School (Ill) and has taken honors classes there as well. Jones boasts a 3.05 GPA at Apple Valley High (Minn.) and volunteered in his community for Feed My Starving Children as a motivational speaker for elementary school children.

Okafor and Jones have not announced which schools they desire most, but the list of programs offering the high school stars is: Michigan State, Duke, Arizona, Ohio State, Minnesota, and Baylor.
