Chicago White Sox Acquire Francisco Liriano From Minnesota Twins

Francisco Liriano could be moving teams, if the Chicago White Sox Twitter account is accurate.  The team account sent out a Tweet Saturday night saying the White Sox acquired the left hander from the Minnesota Twins for a package centered around Eduardo Escobar.

The White Sox needed a left handed guy and Francisco Liriano is going to be one of the best out there.  This is a steal for the Sox, who did not really give up a lot.  Escobar is a very good utility guy but he is not going to make or break your season.  Liriano could be what the Sox need for a playoff push.

I really like this Francisco Liriano trade for the White Sox.  The team is right there in the playoff hunt.  A guy like Liriano could push them over the top and make them a contender for a title.  They are playing some great baseball right now and a guy like this could not hurt them at all.  He is going to help them immensely by taking up innings and throwing some good games.

He will struggle at times but Liriano has some great stuff.   He might be erratic as you can get, but he is worth the package that the White Sox gave up.  No one saw this move coming so you can put another feather in the hat of the Sox front office.  Always under the radar, but always ready to strike.

Francisco Liriano is going to love the South Side and the Sox fans could not be happier.
