Rajon Rondo might be one of the most polarizing players in the NBA. The Boston Celtics point guard is a wizard with the ball in his hands, but he has the ability to rub people the wrong way. However, you can not fault Rondo for being confident. He believes his team is going to win the NBA Finals this season.
“I think because we have a talented group of guys… the additions of Courtney Lee, [Jason] Terry and Jeff Green,” Rondo said.
“We have high expectations every year… I think we got a lot better than last year.”
Well, at least Rajon Rondo is honest. The Celtics are better than last year, but so is every other team that they would be competing against. Personally, I think Boston’s best chance at another title was last year, but they could not hold onto a 3-2 lead in the Eastern Conference Finals.
Rondo joins Jason Terry as members of the Celtics who believe the team is going to win the title this season. Remember, Terry already has a tattoo of the mascot holding up the Finals trophy. That is a pretty bold statement to make, but it has worked out for Terry before.
We are closing in on the return of basketball and predictions like this are sure to move the needle. If you need a reason to get hyped up for what should be a great year, just look at all the title predictions. There are going to be a lot of teams vying for a shot at greatness.
