Zeke Pike has been suspended from the Auburn football program and many were hoping the quarterback would come back and play.  That is not going to be the case, as Gene Chizik confirmed that the QB will not return to the football team.

This is certainly going to create an interesting situation.  There are a lot of teams out there who could use a guy like Zeke Pike.  He will be in high demand and I would bet that he ends up at another high power program.  It just did not work out at Auburn but he will have to work hard to prove himself at another program.

Zeke Pike was picked up for a public intoxication in the summer and the program sent him home.  Many were hoping that he could rejoin the team but he apparently did not do enough to earn his spot back.  This was a surprising move by the coaching staff, but one that should be applauded.  Even though Pike was a high ranked quarterback, the team wasted no time in moving on from him.

We shall see where Zeke Pike ends up playing his college football.  He will probably have a new team within a couple of weeks if it even takes that long.  It really depends on the career path that he wants to take.  He is certainly going to have to take time to rebuild his reputation and hopefully he can convince teams to take a shot at him.

A public intox seems like a big mistake but Pike should bounce back.  Where that next bounce ends up remains to be seen.
