A few weeks after signing with Phoenix, there is a high probability that Michael Redd will make his Suns debut tomorrow night at home against the Cleveland Cavaliers, according to head coach Alvin Gentry If Redd suits up and earns playing time, it will be the first live action game that the shooting guard has played in since April 13 of last year.

Of course, Redd hasn’t played a lot of basketball over the last couple of seasons due to two separate knee surgeries. Since playing in 72 games during the 2007-2008 campaign, Redd has missed 192 games over the last 3+ seasons, including the first seven this year in Phoenix.

It will take some time for Redd to get into game shape. He has practiced ever since he signed his one-year deal back in late December, but there is a big difference between playing against your teammates during a portion of practice and playing against other competition in a live game.

Where Redd fits into Gentry’s rotation remains to be seen. After getting off to a slow start to begin the year, Shannon Brown has played much better in his last three games. He has had double figures in points in all three contests. Jared Dudley has been a bit up and down, scoring only seven points last night in Los Angeles.

If Redd can prove that he is healthy, Gentry will find a way to get him on the court. He is no longer the 20+ point scorer that he was earlier in his career, but he can still shoot the basketball and that is something that Phoenix has not done well in the first nine games of this shorten season.

Shannon Brown might have more points than Jared Dudley, but the Shannon is a waste! He has so many negatives! Yeah he’ll score more cause he shoots more. But what I notice about Brown is he slows down everything and he ball-hogs trying to show-off with no result at the end. In other words, Shannon sucks!
