Remember how popular the nickname “Lin-sanity” was a couple of months ago when New York Knicks guard Jeremy Lin briefly took over the NBA world? Well, now it looks like there may be a new type of “sanity” coming to the Big Apple now that Tim Tebow is a member of the New York Jets.

According to Michael McCarthy of USA Today, three football fans by the names of Frank DeGrim, Daniel Perez, and Christian Perez are battling for the rights to the trademark “Tim-Sanity” now that Tebow has landed in New York. Lin-Sanity became one of the most popular trends in the sports world a couple of months ago and these three football fans are hoping that Tim-Sanity will do the same as they look to make some extra cash by selling the trademark on athletic gear and souvenirs.

Considering how popular “Tebow-mania” was last season when Tebow led the Denver Broncos to an AFC West title and their first playoff appearance since the 2005 season, one can only imagine how big a trademark like Tim-Sanity could become in a market as big as New York. What makes this story even more funny–the three football nuts trying to obtain the trademark are all die-hard fans of the New York Giants.

Despite bleeding blue for their beloved Giants, these fans still want to see Tebow succeed with his new team in New York. As Daniel told the New York Post, there’s nothing he would love more than to see Tebow prove all of his doubters wrong in the Big Apple–which would obviously help the Tim-Sanity trademark become even more popular.
