Indiana Basketball Has Balance This Year Lead By PG Jordy Hulls And Freshmen Cody Zeller
Indiana Basketball has hit rock bottom the last three seasons under head coach Tom Crean. Being left with nothing after the 2007-2008 season after all the scandals with Kelvin Sampson, Tom Crean has built one of the most storied programs back up from nothing. Indiana Basketball has a top 3 recruiting class for next season, but right now they have something special going on for this season. Tom Crean has his most praised recruit since being at Indiana in five star Cody Zeller this season who is growing up before Hoosier faithful. Cody Zeller is the leading scorer averaging 15.5 points a game, 7.5 rebounds and has started every game thus far. The most important thing out of this though is that the Indiana Hoosiers are 8-0 with wins over Butler and on the road at N.C State. Indiana has five players averaging more than 10 points a game. So the word that can best describe the Indiana Hoosiers thus far is, balance. Balance has been the key to the success and start for Indiana Basketball this season, and will be when entering Big Ten play in late December. So who’s next for the Hoosiers? How about the #1 team in the nation, the Kentucky Wildcats. Probably the most talented team in college basketball and proved it Saturday in a win over North Carolina. Indiana will face Kentucky this Saturday at Assembly Hall on ESPN. If the Hoosiers pull off the biggest upset under Tom Crean, I guarantee you will see them in the top 25 in the nation for the first time since 2008.
