New York Yankees Want John Danks: Won’t Trade Banuelos or Montero to White Sox
Published: 5th Dec 11 2:50 pm
According to Jon Heyman of SI, the New York Yankees really want John Danks from the White Sox, but Kenny Williams is holding out for the gems of the Yankees system; Jesus Montero or Manny Banuelos.
It’s a real good move that the Sox are holding out for Danks knowing the Yankees need pitching in the worst way, but at the same time- they should know they won’t get top value for him. It’s possible Kenny Williams is going to try and drive up bidders with the process, but you don’t want to scare everyone away with a ridiculous ask.
It’ll be very interesting to see what Kenny Williams does this winter as he has to refind the magic.

Not a fan of trading up and coming talent to get someone else’s talent unless it’s a HUGE improvement. Give White Sox Hughes and Cervelli in the deal along with a lesser talent. Yankees strategy of winning NOW, costs them success in future years by trading away good players just blossoming.
The White Sox are not going to trade Danks for Hughes. They want young talent. Not saying that he’s worth Banuelos or Montero (which he isn’t) but suggesting the Sox are going to give Danks away for nothing isn’t that intelligent.
